Kate Nasuti, MS, BCBA
Connected Family Partnership Coach
Kate Nasuti has nearly 20 years of experience working with children and families impacted by autism and related developmental disabilities. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and English. After college, she began to work for a large organization in New Jersey that provided services to both children and adults in a variety of settings. During her time with that organization, Kate was able to garner experience in the school as both a paraprofessional and Special Education teacher, in the group homes as a house manager, in the behavior stabilization unit as a program technician, and finally in the homes of families and clinics as an ABA early interventionist. She found her passion in this last role and took that passion with her across the country to California.
In Los Angeles, Kate completed her Master’s Degree in Special Education and became certified as a Behavior Analyst. She received her training and supervision in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis from one of the leading ABA agencies in the area while making her way from instructor (RBT) to Program Director (BCBA) to Regional Clinic Director. She was thrilled to establish a new clinic for this agency, develop strong relationships with providers and school districts in the area, and also collaborate on curriculum for the social skills summer camp. It was at this agency that she began to learn about Acceptance Commitment Training (ACT) from her colleagues doing research in this area.
In 2016, Kate relocated to Tampa, Florida and settled in with an established company in the area as a Clinical Supervisor and then Center Director. As a University of South Florida practicum supervisor, Kate mentored many students who all have gone on to become successful behavior analysts. She committed to the expansion of her learning of ACT and began to incorporate these practices into staff and parent training.
Kate is thrilled to be teaming up with the Nest Life Family of companies and working with a team with such aligned values of best practices, continued learning, and kindness and compassion in our science. With her personal interest in meditation and mindfulness, Kate hopes to bring a more emphasis on these trainings into the clinical work she is doing with children, caregivers, and staff.
